Previously Period Furniture, when Hearne’s of Beaconsfield underwent a complete rebrand they needed a website to complement their new styling and amalgamate an extensive range of products from various sites on to one. Although products were previously updated regularly on these sites it was decided that moving to an e-commerce solution would be an advantageous business strategy.
After creating a traditional yet modern design to acknowledge Hearne’s long history and their varied range of antique and new products, Tochin populated most of the site by creating complementary artwork and transferring products from the previous sites. Hearne’s have since been able to continue adding products, make artwork changes and track orders so retaining complete control of their site; an important prerequisite from the outset.
With such a huge array of products on offer it was important for the site to have a clear navigation so visitors could find what they were looking for quickly hence a search box was also placed in a prominent position. The client-managed e-Commerce system was programmed with a number of other features for Hearne's to implement too, like cross-selling and search engine marketing tools as well as areas for the end user like wishlists.
